Epiphany Hotel in Palo Alto; DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North; Vault Karaköy, The House Hotel: 3 Hotel Openings
Palo Alto’s Epiphany Hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North and Istanbul’s Vault Karaköy, The House Hotel highlight the world’s recent hotel openings.
Palo Alto, California: The Epiphany Hotel
No April Fool’s Joke: Palo Alto’s Epiphany Hotel was scheduled to open April 1 but actually opened three weeks early, HotelChatter reports. No surprise for a hotel located in Silicon Valley, its 86 rooms and come with access to high-speed Internet and G-Link iPod docking stations that stream movies, video games and more to TV. Having tech issues? If you’re not too embarrassed to admit them, the hotel offers a technology concierge too. Rooms start at around $220.
San Francisco, California: DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North
Opening in early March, the DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North offers views of San Francisco Bay, easy access to attractions like Alcatraz and Chinatown — and a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie at check-in. Its 210 rooms are geared toward both business and leisure travelers (so everyone) and feature WiFi and refrigerators (so you can save your cookie for later). Rates start at around $239.
Istanbul, Turkey: Vault Karaköy, The House Hotel
Located in Karaköy, Vault Karaköy, The House Hotel is near both Instanbul’s bohemian Beyoğlu and historic Sultanahmet (home of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia) neighborhoods. Its 63 rooms are housed in two adjacent buildings: the former community center of the Neve Shalom congregation and the Credit General Ottoman Bank. So no surprise, both the hotel’s architect and namer were inspired by the vaults of the former tenant. The hotel also boasts an in-house art curator who organizes events and exhibitions. Three smoking rooms include internal balconies. Rates start around 147€ ($204).
